Disney Cruise Line: A Magical Family Voyage

Disney Cruise Line turns a regular family vacation into a fantastic voyage.

Disney Cruise Line seamlessly blends the enchantment of Disney Parks with the relaxation of a cruise vacation. Whether you’re traveling with the whole family or just Mom and Dad, here are some compelling reasons to set sail:

  1. A Truly Royal Experience: Disney Cruise Line ships boast stunning aesthetics, from their black hulls and red stripes to the white upper decks crowned by bright red funnels. These vessels are meticulously maintained inside and out. Even the oldest ship, the Disney Magic, remains rust-free. Step inside, and you’ll find beautifully themed interiors. Imagine enjoying the jazz club from Pixar’s Soul, dining at the Snuggly Duckling tavern from Tangled, or savoring French cuisine in a Beauty and the Beast-inspired dining room. Kids can explore the Avengers Headquarters, Pixie Hollow, and Andy’s Room in the Oceaneer Club. Plus, the impeccable service ensures a magical experience for the whole family.
  2. Rotational Dining: Included in your fare is a unique dining adventure. You’ll rotate through three distinct dining experiences, each with its own theme, menu, and ambiance. The best part? Your service staff rotates with you, getting to know your preferences and making every meal feel special
  3. Entertainment Galore: Even if the weather doesn’t cooperate (hello, Mexico!), Disney Cruise Line keeps the fun going. From Learn to Draw sessions (a personal favorite) to dance parties and character meet-and-greets, boredom is nowhere in sight. And don’t miss the Broadway-style shows! On our voyage, we enjoyed “Tangled: The Musical” and “Disney Dreams: An Enchanted Classic.”
  4. Pirate Night Extravaganza: Ahoy, matey! Pirate Night is a highlight. Dress up in elaborate pirate costumes (Disney provides neckerchiefs), meet Captain Jack Sparrow, and join the Pirates IN the Caribbean deck party. Picture Captain Mickey swinging in on a rope, fireworks illuminating the night sky. It’s pure magic – like watching Tinkerbell soar from Cinderella’s castle.
  5. Spacious Staterooms: Disney Cruise Line sets the bar high with roomy accommodations. Our ocean-view stateroom featured a super-comfy queen bed, while the kids had their own bunk beds separated by a curtain. Modern, beautiful, and oh-so-comfortable.

Disney Cruise Line is definitely a more expensive choice for a cruise, but the value proposition is really high. We got really lucky with a great price for a sailing from Galveston in January. You’re going to pay more for a sailing during a season of better weather, and weather did play a role in our trip, but we still had an amazing time.

Cost Breakdown (Prices will vary wildly by season and sailing!)
Cruise Fare (Family of 4, one stateroom): $3,000
Beach Club Excursion (cancelled and refunded in our case): $350
Drinks (alcoholic): $475
One Cruise-Length Pass to the Rainforest Room: $85
One Mixology Seminar (for two adults): $90
Merch: $200
Hotel Room in Galveston pre-cruise: $225
