🌊 How to Pick the Perfect Cruise Line 🚢

There’s a lot to choose from!

Cruise lines come in all flavors, and I’ve done the work to be an expert who can help you find the right one for you and your family. There’s a range of options and vibes, and one of them is bound to be right for you! Let me walk you through the different cruise lines I’d recommend so you can get an idea of which line is perfect for you:

🎉 Carnival Cruise Line

Carnival is the FUN ship, and they live up to their brand 100%. On Carnival, you can expect parties, dancing, and a little bit of debauchery and adult humor. You’ll also meet an ultra-friendly crew and eat some pretty good (if not too hoity-toity) food. There are fewer upcharge meals, drinks are rather affordable, and it’s a great way to take your kids on a vacation that they will absolutely enjoy while you feel comfortable putting back a few drinks. Onboard entertainment is FUN, even if the shows are like musical revues that had a baby with a fever dream.

🌟 Royal Caribbean Cruise Line

Royal Caribbean has a quieter vibe than Carnival. The atmosphere is more family-friendly in the traditional sense (e.g., less twerking), and the onboard activities look stellar. Onboard entertainment includes Broadway musicals and cool diving shows. Many activities and restaurants have a nominal upcharge, and the base fare is a bit more expensive than Carnival in many cases.

✨ Disney Cruise Line

Disney Cruise Line is completely magical. The ships are absolutely beautiful. You will meet characters, the shows are beyond amazing (they use EVERY INCH of the space), the service is incredible, and it’s clearly family-friendly with no casino or drink packages. The dining on Disney ships is rotational, meaning you eat at a series of different restaurants and your service staff follow you, taking amazing care of your kids. Even if you don’t have kids, Disney’s adults-only spaces are beautiful and quiet. Anyone who loves the wonderful world of Disney needs to sail on a Disney Cruise at least once.

🛳️ Virgin Voyages

Okay tired parents, here’s a premium option for you if you can get the grandparents to spend a few days with the kids (because these ships are 18+ only). Virgin Voyages create the feel of an ultra-luxury yacht, with lots and lots of inclusions, very few options available at an upcharge, flexible booking policies, compelling itineraries and excursions, and really interesting dining options. If you don’t want to cruise because you’re afraid of being part of a “herd,” this is the line for you, because there’s no assigned dining times and group activities are kept pretty small. The onboard entertainment is unique and the whole vibe oozes 1960’s sexy chic.

🌺 Princess Cruise Lines

Is experiencing the culture of your destination the whole reason you travel? If you go to the Hawaiian Islands, do you need to learn how to make leis and do traditional hula? If you go to Alaska, do you need to meet sled dogs and catch salmon? If the Caribbean is your vibe, do you need to play reggae on a steel drum? If you answered yes to any of the above, we need to get you on a Princess Cruise. These ships are luxe and don’t have the waterslides, splash pads, and dance-offs that the other lines offer. A total change of pace, Princess is going to bring the destination on board, with locally inspired menus, cultural offerings, and more extended port stops.

I hope this helps! 🌴✨ Which cruise line are you most excited about?
